What to Expect in Drug Addiction Treatment
We offer both inpatient and outpatient treatment programs. In inpatient treatment, clients live on-site at our centers and receive 24/7 support. Clients in our outpatient programs live at home while participating in our treatment programs several days a week. Our team can determine which of our programs is right for you depending on the substance you are struggling with, the severity of your addiction, and your unique life situation.
In addition, Lotus Recovery Centers offer detox programs to help individuals during the early days of recovery. Detox can be challenging, as during this time, your body is processing any remaining drugs in your system. Once the effects of these drugs wear off, you’ll begin going through withdrawal. Withdrawal symptoms vary from person to person, but might include:
- Headaches
- Nausea
- Insomnia
- Muscle aches
- Sweating
- Mood swings
- Anxiety
In our centers, we monitor those going through withdrawal and provide counseling during this time. Certain medications can help ease some withdrawal symptoms. Medication-assisted treatment is typically best for those struggling with addiction to opioids or alcohol and can help our clients focus on recovery without physical discomfort.
In our drug addiction treatment centers in West Virginia and Delaware, we offer a wide range of therapies. Therapy gives our clients the tools they need to handle life’s challenges in the future. In group therapy, clients will spend time with others in recovery and can learn from the experiences of their peers. During individual therapy sessions, clients will discover more about their own thought processes and behaviors. Cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and motivational interviewing are all evidence-based therapies that can help our clients change their lives.
